ATO awardThe Top Chapter Award

Presented to the best ATO Chapter in the Nation.  The winning chapter must show extraordinary dedication to the ideals of the Fraternity including an exceptional chapter operation.  A permanent trophy is housed at ATO National Headquarters with all Top Chapter recipients engraved on the trophy face.

Delta Theta won this Award 6 out of the first 8 years it was given.

The True Merit Award

The Fraternity honors a select group of chapters best demonstrating efficiency, excellence, and outstanding achievement in programs, personal development, and overall operations.  Competition for True Merit is intense on the National level.  From year to year, many chapters are deserving of this honor, but the award goes to only the best throughout the country.  There is no limit to the number of True Merit Awards that may be given out each year.

Delta Theta has won this Award 29 times in the 41 years of the Award's existence and has received National Honorable Mention 8 times.

The Thomas Arkle Clark Award

The highest honor that can be accorded to an ATO undergraduate by his Fraternity is named for Dean Thomas Arkle Clark, twice Worthy Grand Chief and, for 31 years, Dean of Men at the University of Illinois.  Each chapter honors its graduating senior who best demonstrates high standards of ATO and campus/community leadership and sevice, scholastic excellence and personal character.  National winner and finalists are selected by the National President.

Communications Awards

After 1992, The Gold Communications Award is presented to the one Chapter that achieves an outstanding overall communications effort to alumni, prospective members, the public and the community.  The Chapter with the next best overall communication effort is honored with The Silver Communication Award.  The Bronze Communication Award recognizes the third best overall chapter communication efforts.  ATO Excellence in Communication Certificates will be given to other chapters showing exceptional communications work.

The Joseph Reid Anderson Award

The Richard A. Ports Public Affairs Award


This award is selects the ATO undergraduate most outstanding in public affairs/political science, and provides them with a summer internship in Washington, D.C., at the White House or a Cabinet Secretariat.
